This year we are continuing our jewellery workshops with Start your Own Charm Bracelet.
This class is great for beginners and will introduce you to working with wax. In just 8 hours (over 2 Saturdays) you will learn various wax carving techniques, we’ll send your wax away to be cast in Sterling Silver and you’ll go home with the beginnings of a very special bracelet that you can keep or pass on to someone you love.
The course is taught by Victoria Mason, a contemporary jeweller who will share many of the techniques used in the making of her jewellery.
The course will cover:
Wax carving & manipulation (hot joining etc)
Concepts involved with making successful charms
Learn about how casting works & why it is a great technique to use (theory, sprues, rubber moulds & making multiples)
How to clean up silver after casting
All tools will be provided and materials to make a Sterling Silver bracelet with a single charm
Extra materials will be available to purchase
The cost is $180 & the class is limited to 4 people.
Ensuring that all participants work in a safe manner and environment is a priority. You will be inducted into the equipment and machinery prior to using it.
