“A lost toddler returned to his mother by a kind stranger.

Two women keen on small talk, make room in their lives for 45 years of conversations”

This is a story about my Nan & her long-time friend, Naida. Rita & Aunty Naida (as us kids called her) had met in the 1960s on Union Rd, Camberwell, when my uncle (who was a toddler) had run off & out of sight. Naida was a very caring woman & approached Rita to point out where she’d seen him run to. They became friends partly because they had children of similar age. They remained friends for the next 45 years until my Nan passed away.
