A little bit about the course…
This class is great for beginners and those who are keen to learn the basics of jewellery design & making. In just 6 hours on a Saturday you will be introduced to a variety of traditional techniques essential to hand making jewellery & will make a stack of rings of your very own!
The course is taught by Victoria Mason, a contemporary jeweller with over 20 years experience who will share many of the techniques used in the making of her jewellery.
The course will cover:
Soldering & hallmarking silver
Sawpiercing techniques in brass
Concepts involved with making rings (eg. Making to the correct size)
All tools will be provided and materials to make 3 rings.
Extra materials will be available to purchase
The cost is $220 & the class is limited to 4 people.
All materials and tools are provided, tea & snacks are provided
Ensuring that all participants work in a safe manner and environment is a priority. You will be inducted into the equipment and machinery prior to using it.
What to wear and bring
It is essential you wear covered shoes, have long hair tied back and do not wear any dangley jewellery or clothing.
It is a good idea to bring along an apron, something to write on & some lunch (tea & snacks provided)
Payment must be made in full upon enrollment.
You must be 18 or over to do this class.
Any missed classes are the responsibility of the student and are not refundable, however we will do everything possible to assist you to catch up.
Refunds on courses will be given if the class is cancelled or a place is not available. Refunds are possible for change of mind up to 2 weeks (14 days) before commencement of the first class – closer to the start date will incur a fee of 50% of the class cost. No deduction or refunds are available to students who miss classes.
