Occasionally I find stones that are so mesmerising that I collect them before I know what they'll become. These tourmaline are from a small parcel of gems I bought from a collector. Their final shape arrived because of the natural crystal available and the lapidrist who decided what they were to look like. Unusually, they're carved on both their front and back, so I designed the silver frame to gently hold the gemstones in place without hiding any of their magnificence.
Tourmaline is the birthstone for those born in October.
